PURPOSE OF THE CAMPAIGN
SUMMER OF SAFETY
The purpose of the 'Summer of Safety' campaign is to:

Deliver an important safety messaging in an engaging, relatable and memorable way by linking beach safety to site safety.
​​

Reinforce in a fresh way the importance of safety awareness and preparedness, as we approach the end-of-year period, a statistically higher-risk time for incidents and injuries to occur.
​

Support a well-planned operational shutdown and restart, while encouraging our people to take a safe and well-earned break.
​

Incorporate Quality, Environment, and Wellbeing content to promote a holistic approach to the key theme of “ride the wave, not the risk”.
​​

Promote the idea of building momentum for working safely before and after the shutdown.

THIS YEARS THEME
SAFETY IN THE SUMMER TIME
This year we have a “Bondi Rescue” theme linking beach to site safety with slogan “Ride the wave, not the risk” which introduces the idea of a need to work together to achieve a safe successful workplace over the summer and continuing months. ​

There will be six key messages delivered, one for each week of week of the campaign:

WEEK 2 - Teamwork and communication

WEEK 3 - Preparation and prevention

WEEK 4 - Pre-shutdown recap

WEEK 5 - Training and skills

WEEK 6 - Emergency response

WEEK 7 - Public safety and wellbeing

These will be delivered through 15-minute Weekly toolboxes delivered across all project sites with support onsite from senior leadership and functional leads.
​
The campaign will officially launch on 27th November at the End of Year Function, featuring the premiere of the campaign video and a presentation from guest speaker “Harries” from Bondi Rescue.
